It’s hard to imagine that the people that represent us in Congress are having such a difficult time in deciding whether or not to pass Trump’s big beautiful bill. Actually, both sides have passed the bill, but the process to pass bills today in Congress is so convoluted.
So far, this is what happened. First, the Republican led House of Representatives passed the bill first. Why were they in such a hurry to do so? It’s because they wanted to pass the torch to the Senate, and let them figure out a way to make it work, because they knew that in it’s present form, it would not pass in the Senate. They didn’t want to piss-off Trump, as the cowards they are. As expected, the Senate refused to pass the bill as sent over by the House. So the Senate modified it, and it passed with the narrowest of margins, with a 50-50 tie and then Vice President Vance broke the tie.
So now the modified bill that still contains provisions that are poison for the American people still exist in the bill. There will be debate in the Senate, and there is a good chance that the bill will be modified once again to appease some of the Republicans that just will not vote for it in it’s present position.
But let’s get into the ‘meat and potatoes’ of the bill that our elected representivives plan to vote on.
Here are the negatives of the bill…
1 – There will be $1.1 Trillion in Health Care cuts.
2 – 11.8 million people will lose their health care – Medicade will cease to exist. All government assistance, including food stamps, housing and government assistance will be lost when this bill is passed that will give a massive tax cut to the rich.
3 – There will be a $4 Trillion tax cut for the rich that would lock in many of the 2017 tax cuts passed for the richest Americans.
4 – It turbocharges funding for Trump’s massive deportation.
5 – It begins a seismic shift in the nations fiscal trajectory and it raises the risk of a debt crisis. The U.S. debt raises substantially, between $3.5 trillion to $5 Trillion added.
6 – In a few polls, first, namely the Quinnipiac poll, only 29% support the bill and 55% oppose it.
7 – The Fox news poll only favors the bill by 39% and 59% oppose it.
What’s crazy, this bill that Republicans in Congress are leaning to support will damage small cities and towns, many of which are Republican strongholds. Why do I say that? I say this because it DEFUNDS money destined for local hospitals. If you take the money away, these hospitals will close down. In many small towns, hospitals represent the second largest employer in the city. If the hospitals go down, the town goes down with it. Trump can’t give a damn about anyone except himself. He is so ignorant, that he doesn’t know that through his actions, he will go down as the worst president in U.S. history. But maybe he’s not as ignorant as that. Maybe he knows but just doesn’t care.
Why would the Republicans attack Medicade just so that the rich will get a tax cut? Why does Trump want to hurt people in so many cowardly ways? Why do the American people put up with him? Everyone says that it will change in the midterms when Trump most likely will become a lame duck president, when the Democrats will take over the U.S. House and Senate. Many say that the Democrats will right the ship when they get back in power. But I’m not too confident that the country can last until then.
The one thing people say on the liberal side of the isle regarding this bill that is good is that the bill incorporates ‘NO TAX ON TIPS’, and ‘END TAXES ON SOCIAL SECURITY’. Don’t the Democrats realize that ending taxes on social security will only be temporary and most likely will be changed back to the way it was before ‘Trump’s Big, Beautiful tax bill’? Do they realize by passing this bill will doom Social Security in the future? All for what? Just so the richest of the rich get a permanent tax cut.
