The ECONOMY is about to go over a cliff

February 27, 2025

Donald Trump is determined to wreck the economy. Here is what he posted on Truth Social just moments ago. The date is February 27, 2025 at 8:05AM CT. The Dow Jones Industrial Average has taken a leap, but it was not as big as it could have been in a positive direction if Donald Trump didn’t make that tariff announcement 30 minutes before the opening bell.

Here is what Trump said in his Truth Social post…

“Drugs are still pouring into our Country from Mexico and Canada at very high and unacceptable levels. A large percentage of these Drugs, much of them in the form of Fentanyl, are made in, and supplied by, China. More than 100,000 people died last year due to the distribution of these dangerous and highly addictive POISONS. Millions of people have died over the last two decades. The families of the victims are devastated and, in many instances, virtually destroyed. We cannot allow this scourge to continue to harm the USA. And therefore, until it stops, or is seriously limited, the proposed TARIFFS scheduled to go into effect on MARCH FOURTH will, indeed, go into effect, as scheduled. China will likewise be charged an additional 10% Tariff on that date. The April Second Reciprocal Tariff date will remain in full force and effect. Thank you for your attention to this matter. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

So now starts. The continued downward spiral of our economy will be immediate. With Trump’s very reckless response as given in the above statement right before the markets opened today, the stock markets will immediately start their downward spiral. Great job Donald!

Canada will not sit back and neither will Mexico. They have already decided to move a lot of business away from the US because of Trumps recent threats, but now he is actually going to go through with his madness. Canada has already secured new trade with countries in the EU because of Trump’s initial threat a month ago, as oil and gas and other minerals are now leaving Canada that were originally going to go to the US, but now are going to Europe and China.

As I have been saying for quite some time now, when Trump finally pulls the trigger and actually initiates the tariffs to Canada and Mexico, those countries will reciprocate with their tariffs on goods going into the US. Trump says there will be ‘PAIN’. He is actually clueless. He has no idea how many people in the US he is hurting. Far more than the “more than 100,000 people” he will be hurting in this country which will affect free trade around the world. Unemployment will skyrocket.  If US companies want merchandise from these so called tariffed countries, the companies will pay the higher prices but then pass the cost onto the American consumer.

As he states, “TARIFFS scheduled to go into effect on MARCH FOURTH will, indeed, go into effect, as scheduled.” The markets will not wait until that date.

They reacted today. The Dow lost 270.90 points.

On Monday, The Dow was up 131 points from Fridays close.

On Tuesday, the Dow dropped 112 points.

Wednesday, the Dow dropped 110 points.

Today the Dow dropped another 270 points.

Do you se a pattern here? The economy is about to fall of of a cliff, and it will be pushed over when Trump announces tariffs on Canada and Mexico. But Trump doesn’t care now to help the economy or the middle class.

Tourism from Canada to the US is now being discouraged in Canada. People are cancelling vacations they had scheduled in the US. So, US tourism will feel the “pain”. Not Donald Trump. He will play another game of golf today.

It never had to be this way. There is nothing but chaos in Washington D.C. at the moment. Trumps cabinet are with him ‘lock, stock and barrel’, and they seem to be determined to carry out Trumps will that will hurt this country. Democracy will now be tested unlike it has never been tested before in this country.

Donald Trump Continues to Crash the Economy

February 22, 2025

Well folks, we seem to be in a downward spiral. Yesterday the Dow Jones Industrial Average when down by another 748.63 points. The volitale week took the Dow down by 1,255 points. So plain and simple, there has been a stock market sell-off this week. The 10-year Treasury yield dropped with a concern over the health of the economy. The midigating factor –  the threat of more tariffs.

I’ve had concerns about the economy being affected by Trumps threats of tariffs to our neighbor to the north, Canada, and to our neighbor to the south, Mexico for quite some time in posts dating back for months. And if that weren’t enough, Trump put a tariff on China of an additional 10%, added to the 10% he put on China during his first term as president.

Prior to Trumps threats to Canada, our neighbor to the north was shipping 97% of all crude oil from production to the United States. But recently after the threat of a 20% tariff to Canada, they decided to start doing business elsewhere. Canada has just made a trade agreement with China, and now they are shipping oil to China. I might add that they have worked out a deal where there will be no tariffs between the two countries.

Last week, Canada joined the EU. That was a result of the threats made by Trump. Canada is now widely diversifying, and they are now trading substantially with Europe. This adds up to only one thing. The United States will no longer get 97% of Canada’s shipments of oil. If the U.S. is lucky, they many get 50%. So what does this mean. It means that the prices at the gas pumps will be going up soon. Prior to Trumps threats, the major exports from Canada went almost solely to the United States. Not any longer. And, I’m sure thaat Trump is proud of himself.

Things like this will have a cascade effect on our economy. If oil prices go up substantially, Trump will be forced to tap into the oil reserves within the U.S. But with possible upcoming tariffs to Canada, we can expect Trump to use the oil reserves and then there is a chance that gas prices will double.  But if you ask Trump about tariffs, he will tell you that Canada will pay for them. But shortly, everyone will see first hand who has to pay for Trumps mistakes with Canada.

I actually don’t see a way to stop the downspiral of the DOW. There is a big chance that all the gains that were made during the Biden presidency will be lost in the markets in the next upcoming months and beyond, and the GDP will also fall.

I hate to be the grim reaper here, but what you are reading is the truth. Trumps actions tell a terrible story that did not have to happen. If I were reading a book and see how the cost of gasoline is going up, I would think it was just fiction. Actually, it is fact and about to become very real.

As always when I write so negatively about our economy, noone wants me to be wrong more than myself. But I’m reporting the facts here, and I see which way the markets are going.

By the way, the other major markets tanked on Friday too.

The NasdaQ composite dropped by 438 points on Friday.

The S&P 500 dropped another 104 points from Thursday.

TRUMP TAKING OVER THE POST OFFICE – IRS EMPLOYESS BEING FIRED – UP TO 6,700 WORKERS – STOCK MARKETS WILL SINK

February 21, 2025

Donald Trump is in the process of handicapping the IRS. He is in the process of firing up to 6,700 IRS workers. Will your W2 form that displays a income tax refund ever be processed?

Also, Trump is preparing to dissolve the leadership (the postal board) of the U.S. Postal Service and absorb the independent mail agency into his administration, potentially throwing the 250-year-old mail provider and trillions of dollars of e-commerce transactions into termoil. Trump is on a destruction campaign that is destroying our country. Trump believes that he is a king and openly admits that on social media. He says that it is legal to do what he is doing because he is doing it with the intention to save America.

Imagine that! Trump saving America.  Every time Donald Trump speaks, the country and the world knows that they would be much better off right now if Biden was still president of the United States.

As stated in a previous article, watch the stock markets. I feel that they will implode sooner than you think. The Dow Jones Industrial Average went down yesterday 450.95 points. Will it recover today? If not today, it will take a deep dive soon.

Volatility Now Starting to Show its Ugly Head as Markets Sink Thanks to DONALD TRUMP

February 20, 2025

30 Top Companies represent the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Volatility is now starting to show its ugly head. Unfortunately, this is just the beginning of what I believe will be a free fall, especially after Trump reimposes Tariffs on Canada and Mexico.

Today January 20th, the Down Jones Industrial Average dropped .92% to 44176.25 at market close at 3:00PM CT. As early as 10:30AM CT today, the market dropped to 44003 and gained some momentum before the close of the markets. So what does the .92% drop represent. In simple terms, the market actually lost 450.95 points today.

Also in the red today is the GSPC (S&P 500 Index), down .39% now sitting at 6119.55.

Similarly the Nasdaq 100 is down .37% now at 22067.65.

The sad thing about all of this is that this did not have to happen. But Donald Trump in his ignorance and his determination to punish our neighbors with tariffs, will now begin to put the country’s economy on a free-fall. The indicators that I base my judgements on, reflect what I am saying.

Everyone should have remembered what happened to the country when Trump in his first term as president put out tariffs. The markets pretty much did the same thing, but was not as volatile as they are now.

Now, let me direct the next few statements to Donald J. Trump, our so called Commander-and-Chief, who is supposed to be the strongest person in the world, who acts like he is not, as he supports Putin, making the Russian president stronger than him. Also, let’s congratulate Elon Musk for taking over the government, taking over DOGE, but now refusing to take owner ship as Trump is now calling him a contractor for DOGE. Really? When has Elon Musk will all his money, ever took a back seat ride with anything in his life?

Prices will now continue to go higher on everything from automobiles, oil, steel, aluminum, precious medals, gasoline, eggs, fruits, liquor and so much more. The American consumer is fixing to pay a lot more on just about everything.

So here goes…

DONALD J TRUMP, I HOPE YOU READ THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS….

Thank you DONALD TRUMP for not caring for the American People and acting like a convicted felon that you are. We definitely need an autocrat like you in the office of president. Thank you for raising prices when you told the American people that you were going to do the opposite which was to lower prices.

Thank you Donald Trump for stopping the Ukraine war on day 1 of your presidency, like you said that you would. The only problem is that you didn’t. It’s still going on, and fixing to ramp up after your open support of a dictator and murderer – President Putin of Russia.

Thank you Donald Trump for allowing Musk and his flunkies from accessing my Social Security Information. Thank you Donald Trump for furlowing thousands of IRS workers so my tax refund most likely will be late or not come at all. Thank you Donald Trump in your attempt to kill Medicade.

Thank you Donald Trump for being the reason why Canada has joined the EU and now will contribute the most of their resources to Europe, instead of the United States.  Thanks for letting XI of China get access to Canadian oil. Like you said, we don’t need Canadian Oil. Thank you Donald Trump for our neighbor island to the south, CUBA, for joing BRICS. They know that you would never support them, so they had to go elsewhere.

A special thank you Donald Trump for laying off all of the workers that we so desperately need to keep this country safe, like air-traffic controllers and the FBI agents, and to help keep the world safe by furlowing thousand of USAID workers. There has been at least 5, maybe 6 air disasters since your presidency that started just 30 days ago. I sure the families of the deceased and injured thank you for taking care of the FAA and firing the FAA head before the first crash on your watch at Dullas Airport in Washington. Imagine that! Donald, do you know there was no head of the FAA during the first plane crash in Washington that kill everyone on board of a jetliner and 4 people in a military chopper? Of course you do, but take all the time you want playing golf instead of making this country safe. That’s more important!

Donald, may I enlighten you a litte more on USAID? The funds from the U.S. budget for USAID was no more than 1% of the budget, but I’m sure that your rich Republican friends will like their net bonus in the form of a tax break when you pass another bill to help the rich. Thank you for cutting USAID that the the needy across the world rely on to live. It’s more important as you know to support your rich friends with tax cuts instead of helping foreigners across the world that need the funds to live.

Thanks for signing all of those executive orders, where at least 30 are unlawful as they directly conflict with the U.S. Constitution.

Donald Trump, your approval rating is heading in the wrong direction, now at 47% approval rating. Do you know that your approval rating never reached 50% in either your first term or second term as president. Thank you for attempting to set the record on that. Trying to be the least popular president in U.S. history is a real good thing, right Donald? I’m sure you would never admit it, because you are sure that nothing like that could ever happen to you. Are you happy not to have enjoyed the honeymoon phase of your presidency this time around? Soon, your rating will drop below 40%, when the economy buckles and the people who voted for you will be hurting and every American will go down with you. Keep checking the polls Donald Trump, because you are about to get an eye opener. You will still deny it, because you are the most popular president in U.S. history, so you say.

OH, I forgot, you have presidential immunity and lots of money. You will never feel the hurt that you publicly stated that the American people will feel. Instead, you like to play golf everyday. Nothing phases you felon Trump, because you now have presidential immunity and you can do what you want, especially with your Executive Orders. I hope you enjoy all the lawsuits as they come pouring in.

Donald Trump, do you know that today if it were election day that you would lose the presidency if held today, especially since people would know what you have done so far in your second term. Mr. Trump, read the last article on this website and you will be enlightened what you done in the first 30 days of your presidency. Oh, but I forgot. Now that you will not run for re-election on the present rules for a president with the Constitution saying you can only have a maximum of two terms, you are not worried about re-election. That is unless you refuse to step down the second time, similarly to when you lost in 2020 to Joe Biden and refused to step down. But I got to give you credit Donald Trump. You got away with it, at least for now. Are you dumb enough to try again?

Donald Trump, when are you going to keep your promise of “NO TAXES ON TIPS” for the people in the food industry. When are you going to keep your promise to fix the economy, that you blame Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for breaking. Donald Trump, are you aware that the economy was rebounding from Covid, from your watch as was the best economy that the U.S. has ever had. President Biden will be remembered for doing everything good.

YOU WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR DOING EVERYTHING BAD, doing things an autocrat or dictator will do. But I’m sure you are proud of that, especially being the only twice-impeached and only convicted felon in American history to serve as president of the United States, yet a second time. GREAT JOB!

And I could’t stop here without CONGRATULATING my Republican friends (and I have many), of voting for you Mr. Trump. I hope they are reading these statements too. It’s really not their fault that they were ignorant during the election this past November. You enjoy lying to your supporters even though they never realize it or just refuse to. But I’m sure that some of them that actually care, have their eyes open now and wished they did not vote for a convicted felon, which is what you are Donald Trump and the reason why the American people will now go through hell for the next four years.

Have a great rest of your 2nd term as president, convicted felon, Donald J. Trump. Sleep good at night, and while you are at it, go play another game of golf!

Trump’s First 30 Days – Nothing but Chaos

February 19, 2025

Well Republicans,  How’s Donald Trump doing? Is he getting things done? Are you happy with his continuance of breaking the laws and not abiding to the U.S. Constitution? Are you excited that he hasn’t done a damn thing for the middle class and is now openly pushing for another tax cut for the rich?  Besides isolating Canada, Mexico, China and Greenland and the EU, he has created legal chaos. Within the first month of his presidency, he has been presented with over 100 lawsuits.

THIS IS THE GREAT PRESIDENT THAT YOU AS REPUBLICANS VOTED FOR. YOU VOTED FOR A CONVICTED FELON, THEN YOU PUT HIM IN THE WHITEHOUSE, AND THIS IS WHAT YOU GET.  ENJOY YOUR LIVES FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS.

The answer is an astounding YES! He’s getting things done, But actually for not even a single good reason, or of a reason that would be good for anyone except for himself and his millionaire buddy Elon Musk.  He hasn’t achieved even one campaign promise that would help the American people. Trump is testing laws and breaking the laws that’s been on the books for a long time just because he has Executive Immunity and he now can break the laws as he sees it because he says it’s best for America.  Trump is enjoying the freedom from prosecution and now acts like a king.

But what Trump has done his first 30 days as president has been nothing short of chaos. He’s promoting tariffs on our closest trading partners of Canada and Mexico.  His reckless actions are causing a very unstable stock market, along with the economy that will soon tank and prices will go up on just about everything.

Day One – January 20

Executive Orders..

  1. Order to End Birthright Citizenship – As Trump ignores the 14th Amendment of the Constitution which says that anyone born here, even from undocumented immigrants now become U.S. citizens. Why should he abide by the Constitution? After all, during the Inauguration when he was sworn into office, he never put his hand on the bible, but raised his right hand swearing he would abide by it. He cannot be convicted of going against the Constitution, even though he swore that he would abide by it during his Inauguration.
  2. Asylum Access termination – As it is a violation of a congressional act and an attempt to bypass Congress.
  3. Firing of Federal Employees – Trump reinstates ‘Schedule F’ to make it easier to fire Federal employees. Trump openly is in violation of due process and civil service protections.
  4. Established the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) – Aimed to cut Federal spending, which is a new department that is not in compliance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act.
  5. Transgender Recognition – The Federal Government is now directed to only recognize two sexes, preventing transgender female inmates from serving time in women’s prisons and end gender-affirming care for those in federal prison.

Day Two – January 21

Executive orders..

Ending DEI Programs – (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) including at the Federal Aviation Administration.

Day 5 – January 24

  1. Firing Inspectors General – Trump and Musk fire 17 inspectors generals without giving Congress its legally required 30 days’ notice before removing the federal watchdogs. Eight inspectors general sued the Trump administration over this, claiming their firings were unlawful.

Day 8 – January 27

  1. Banning of Transgender Military Service – Any troops that are transgender are now not allowed to openly serve in the military. This is a discriminatory action and faces litigation in federal court as a violation of the Fifth Amendment’s equal protection guarantee.
  2. Federal Funding Freeze – Trump has decided to temporarily pause all federal foreign and domestic aid, which different federal courts blocked on January 28 and January 31st.

Day 9 – January 28

  1. Ending Gender-Affirming Medical Care – No further federal support of gender-affirming medical treatments for people under 19, which was challenged by the ACLU and others for infringing on individuals’ rights and for exceeding the president’s constitutional authority over determining how congressional appropriations are used.
  2. Federal Worker Buyout – Donald Trump is forcing federal employees with an offer to a buyout if they resigned from their roles. Labor unions are challenging the plan as the buyout violates federal administrative law.

Day 10 – January 29

Trump posted a presidential memorandum directing the secretaries of the Defense and Homeland Security departments to expand the use of Guantanamo Bay to house migrants.  On February 9th, a federal judge blocked the deportation of three Venezuelan migrants to Guantanamo who argued in a lawsuit filed by various advocacy organizations that they are falsely accused of being associated with the Trun de Argua gang.

Day 12 – January 31

DOGE Access to the Treasury Department – DOGE and Elon Musk accesses the payment systems that distribute trillions of dollars of benefits, grants and tax refunds. The federal Unions filed a lawsuit, calling the data-sharing illegal and a violation of privacy. A week later on February 8th, a federal judge blocked DOGE’s access, while 19 Democratic attorneys general suing the Trump administration and accusing the Treasury Department of overstepping its statutory authority and violating federal law and the separation of powers doctrine.

Day 13 – February 1

1) USAID Administrative Leave – Two top officials at USAID were put on administrative leave after they refused to let DOGE representatives without security clearances into restricted areas of the building. As a result, they joined dozens of other senior USAID staffers who had also been placed on leave, a move that resulted in a federal court issuing a temporary restraining order. The court found that the plaintiffs in the case – two unions representing USAID federal workers – “have adequately demonstrated that their members are facing irreparable injury from their placement on administrative leave, and that more members would face such injury if they were placed on administrative leave.”

2) Dismantling USAID – Elon Musk and Trump advocated for shuttering USAID – which provides aid to fight starvation and poverty, fund education and end epidemics overseas – following Musk’s determination that its spending was wasteful. But questions remain about whether a congressionally codified department like USAID  can be legally closed without Congress’ approval.

On Feb. 7, a federal judge paused the Trump administrations’s actions against USAID after two unions requested a temporary restraining order to stop employees from being placed on leave, as well as a funding freeze.

Day 16 – February 4

1) Taking over Gaza – Trump proposes in a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he plans to take the Gaza Strip, force hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from the enclave. Gaza is recognized by the United Nations and the International Court of Justice, and international law prohibits taking the territory by force.

2) An acting FBI director Brian Driscoll turned over information on more than 5,000 FBI employees who worked on Jan. 6 cases, but two groups of FBI agents sued the Department of Justice in an effort to protect their identities.

Day 17 – February 5

Transgender Sports Ban – Trump signed an executive order effectively banning transgender women and girls from competing in female sports categories. On Feb. 12, two transgender teenage girls in New Hampshire challenged the order in court for violating their equal protection and Title IX rights.

Day 20 – February 8

Shuttering CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau – Russell Vought, the Trump-appointing acting director of the CFPB, directed the agency to halt most of its work and closed its headquarters for the following week in an effort to essentially shutter the bureau. But the National Treasury Employees Union filed two lawsuits against Vought arguing that his directives are unlawful. The first lawsuit says Vought violated the separation of powers doctrine by “undermining Congress’s authority to set and fund the missions of the CFPB.” The second lawsuit says Vought violated the Privacy Act by allowing DOGE  (Elon Musk ) to access CFPB employee records.

Day 22 – February 10

Violation of Federal Funding Freeze Order – A judge previously blocked the Trump administration’s federal funding freeze on January 31 saying that the administration violated his temporary restraining order by continuing “to improperly freeze federal funds” and not resuming the “disbursement of appropriated federal funds.”

Day 24 – February 12

Dismissive Statements About the Judiciary – Elon Musk on social media suggested judges should be impeached for using their oversight to check the power of the Trump administration. But legal scholars believe that courts play a necessary role in the nation’s system of checks and balances. The Constitution says that federal judges, who typically serve life appointments, can be impeached for “treason, bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors”, all of whom the judges are not guilty of but Donald Trump is guilty of all. Now as a sitting president, Trump’s Executive Immunity makes him above the law and can never be charged or impeached for these offenses, thanks to Republican Supreme Court justices that control the court and gave presidents powers to be above the law why officiating duties in office.

Day 26 – February 14

The Justice Department files a motion to Dismiss Charges Against New York City Mayor. – A corrupt Democratic Mayor Eric Adams who has been cozying up to Trump. An acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove III had previously ordered Danielle Sassoon, the acting district attorney for the Southern District of New York, to dismiss corruption charges against Adams. Seven lawyers, including Sassoon, resigned from the department over the decision, which has drawn allegations of amounting to an unethical quid pro quo.

Day 27 – February 15

Trump issues Provocative Water Suggesting He is Above the Law – In a social media post, Trump suggested that his efforts to “save” the country put him above the law. “He who saves his Country does not violate any Law.” Trump posted on Truth Social and X, drawing criticism from Democrats like California Sen. Adam Schiff who said of the post, “Spoken like a true dictator.”

The Dumbest Trade War Thanks to Trump and his Tariffs

February 17, 2025

The Wall Street Journal dubbed Trump’s trade war as the dumbest in history.  Previous tariffs during his first administration costed Americans some $80 billion.

Just a few weeks ago he announced a 25% tariff on both Mexico and Canada with just a 10% tariff on Canada’s Energy Products. He also announced a blanket 10% tariff on Chinese goods and more recently he’s been toying with the idea of reciprocal tariffs with other U.S. trading partners including the EU and Japan. He plans to review the stall of tariffs to Canada and Mexico, but soon he will activate the tarrifs to those countries, and the stock markets will tank, and the prices of imported goods will skyrocket to the American consumer. Tariffs on Canada and Mexico have been temporarily halted but the tariffs on China have gone live and it seems as though Donald Trump is going to continue exploring further tariffs on other countries over the next few weeks.

The interesting thing though is that the president can’t just slap tariffs on any country for any reason as he has to work within existing laws. But what laws does he actually adhere to? The answer is, the only ones that he can break without costing him.  Trump strives to break the rules and make his own. Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 allows the president to impose tariffs for national security reasons. Section 301 of the trade Act of 74 allows the president to impose tariffs if a foreign country engages in unfair trade practices and the Tariff Act of 1930 allows the president to impose retaliatory tariffs if a foreign government discriminates against U.S. products but beyond that the tariffs need Congressional approval.

Trump has killed USAID and now trying to kill the Department of Education. Both eliminations are illegal, and judges have provided restraining orders to Trump and his acting president, Elon Musk. Now there are over 100 lawsuits pending against Trumps executive orders, and this is in just the first four weeks of Trumps presidency. Will anything good be reflected in Trumps first 100 days in office?

Meanwhile, Trump and Musk are continuing to piss off U.S. Congress, and is getting resentment also from Republicans. The Democrats in Congress have vowed that if Trump eliminates the Department of Education, they will not vote on any upcoming bills in Congress. Yes, the Republicans don’t need the Democrats to pass bills, or do they? With a slim margin in both the House and Senate, they definitely need the Democrats.

Does Trump abide by Congressional approval? Why would he? He’s trying to create his own laws now that he has presidential immunity. He can just sign his Executive Orders and try to get away with anything he wants without Congressional approval.  But, there’s no power that the president has that enables him to place tariffs on countries without just cause.  So he declares a national emergency which gives him the right to impose tariffs.  He blames Canada and Mexico for illegal immigration and for bringing Fentanyl  into the U.S. He argues that China hasn’t done enough to curb the flow of precursor chemicals into the US. Trump will try the best he can to impose tariffs where possible to increase the tax revenue and reduce the trade deficit of the United States. It’s a plan he’s touting as the turning point of the US economy. His goal is to improve America’s strategic and financial position in the world but many economists are seeing it as a turning point for many other different reasons . You can argue that Trump’s tariff plan may likely to be a good thing for America but in the end, he is isolating us from our trading partners, and they will just find other trading partners instead of the U.S. The American consumer will get hurt from this tactic.

A tariff is simply a tax applied to a country’s imports or goods brought into the country from elsewhere. Trump has tried very hard to convince people that it’s these external countries that will pay the tariffs but that is actually false. It’s also quite misleading .

It is in fact the U.S. businesses that buy foreign products have to pay the tariff before the goods are allowed into the country. For example almost all of America’s avocados are grown in Mexico, about 90%. But if a 25% blanket tariff is put on goods from Mexico it means that companies like Walmart will have to pay a 25% additional tax to the U.S. government on their avocado orders before they get that stock so if they previously bought avocados at a dollar a piece then after the tariffs are put in place that Avocado now cost Walmart $1.25. But in reality Walmart doesn’t just eat the additional cost. They pass it on to consumers so that Walmart’s profitability doesn’t take hit. SO, ULTIMATELY THE PEOPLE THAT PAY THE TAX ARE STILL AMERICAN CITIZENS.

The big advantage to the implementation of tariffs is that it is a way on fixing America’s trade deficit while the White House has officially been messaging that these new proposed tariffs are around a national immigration and fentenyl emergency

The real underlying motivation of Trump implementing these tariffs is purely economic and this can be seen because as soon as Donald Trump isn’t talking about China, Mexico or Canada, his messaging completely changes and focuses much more on trade imbalances. Trump’s message to the media after meeting with the Japanese prime minister was the following…

“We have a trade deficit with Japan of over a hundred billion but we’re going to work that out and I think very quickly. Frankly we can do it just on oil and gas. We can work it out so we intend to do it very quickly.”

A trade deficit is one of those fancy economic terms that gets thrown around but it’s really quite a simple concept to understand. Countries around the world make certain goods. When they have an excess they might sell those goods to other countries as exports. They will also buy goods from other countries, i.e. America buying avocados from Mexico now  but a trade deficit occurs simply when the country imports more than it exports .This is seen as a problem because over time you lose domestic jobs as more goods consumed in America are made outside of America and that can lead to a decline in American industry and also dependence on other countries which is a big problem in times like when the global supply chain just completely freezes . Overall it just gives foreign countries a bit of added leverage over the United States at the negotiating table as at the end of the day the United States need needs the other country’s stuff. Now in  2024 America’s trade deficit was 98.4 billion with their goods trade deficit reaching a record 1.2 trillion meaning the US is importing $1.2 trillion more goods than their exporting and on a country by country or region by region basis. The biggest trade deficits are seen with China, EU, Mexico , Vietnam,  Ireland,  Germany, Taiwan, South Korea and Canada and the list goes on

In the case of China alone, the U.S. in 2024 bought $295.4 billion more goods from China than what China bought from the United States and this shows that the U.S. is quite dependent on Chinese made stuff for their economy to function normally . Now that number has actually been falling in 2018 America had a record trade deficit with China of over $400 billion but despite that number improving to Donald Trump. Any trade deficit is still a problem and it’s a problem Trump is hellbent on fixing. Take the recent 10% tariff placed on Chinese goods as an example. The U.S. buys lots of goods from China, like smartphones, computers, batteries, toys and video games consoles. The list really goes on but with a 10% tariff importers now have to sell those goods in America at a 10% markup to avoid any hit to their profitability. Now, that increased price on the imported goods naturally encourages more Americans to buy American made products. The foreign made products are just way more expensive now but even more importantly than that the main effect Trump wants to see from the tariffs is a return of manufacturing to America. The idea is if Americans start buying more American products then hopefully that leads to growth in domestic industries higher profitability for American businesses and more jobs for the American people. Then on top of that, the government also earns a little bit more tax revenue which it may use to lower income taxes for its citizens

It sounds like a perfect strategy but there are some problems. The biggest and most obvious problem is that tariff s increase prices, i.e. they spur inflation. It’s the American importer like Walmart that has to pay the tariff. They’re the ones that raise their prices so at the end of the day, Americans pay more for the goods that they need.

I have already discussed the avocado example that 90% of American avocados come from Mexico. A 25% tariff on all Mexican Goods means avocados are 25% more expensive now but now apply that logic to all the products that America imports from these various countries . From Mexico vehicles, electronics, petroleum, fruits and vegetables. In fact, 18 out of every 100 cars sold in America are made in Mexico. Tariffs up the price to American automaters.  Companies like GM, Ford ,krysler, will up the cost of their products by 25%. Agricultural products from China, smartphones, computers, batteries, toys and  video games are affectred.  It all gets more expensive and for a lot of people that rubs them the wrong way. The Federal Reserve is finally starting to get a hold of this predicted inflation.

Americans are unfortunately struggling much more with the cost of living than they were 5 years ago and now Trump is voluntarily inflating prices and calling at an America First policy.

For some that’s a hard sell so that’s the fundamental argument against the tariff plan and it’s why some economists describe it  as a turning point for the U.S .economy, but for all the wrong reasons The Wall Street Journal just the other week even went so far as to call Trump’s plan “the dumbest trade war in history going back to the trade deficits”

American industries do not benefit from tariffs. As an example,  Trump announces a 10% tariff on Chinese electronics to try and spur American companies to manufacture electronics in America. But history tells us that this typically doesn’t happen. Instead, companies look for the next cheapest alternative, i.e. the U.S. imposed tariffs on China. During Trump’s first term, the trade deficit with China didn’t disappear . It just shifted to Vietnam Mexico, and India and other lowcost countries.

Cheaper manufacturing alternatives are created elsewhere, instead of boosting U.S. manufacturing. Many companies will simply move their production to another lowcost country so that’s another problem  that tariffs create. This is why this time around we’re seeing Trump targeting a lot of countries broadly with tariffs. But be clear, because Trump doesn’t understand this, countries like Mexico, China, and Canada will take their business elsewhere, overlooking the American market because now they would not have to pay any tarrifs.

Trump, out of nowhere announces a 25% tariff on our steel and aluminum worldwide. But at the end of the day for resources like steel there are many buyers and putting tariffs on things like Australian steel for example, will probably just mean that we’ll sell it to China cheaper which helps their economy flourish while still prices rise in America. It’s the same idea behind the formation of the BRICS countries. America wielded so much power over these countries and flexed so hard on them that eventually they just got fed up with it to a point where American sanctions on these countries have fast-tracked a new BRICS payment system that ditches the Swift Network. the US dollar and ultimately reduces the influence that America has. So looking at these tariffs through a diplomacy lens out of nowhere the president of the United States has moved to impose tariffs on America’s two biggest export markets of Canada and Mexico and its largest supplier of goods from China and key strategic economic allies in the EU and Japan. Now of course while no other country will really try and stick it to America outside of the BRICS Nations. Oh, and by the way, because of Trump and his imposed tariffs to Canada, within the last 24 hours, they have joined the EU. Trump has woken up a giant in the name of Canada, and Americans across the country will start feeling the pinch in their pockiet books as the years roll by. That’s unfortunate, because it didn’t have to be this way. But two people named Trump and Musk decided to stick it to the rest of the country, namely people like you and me.

Donald Caves Again, This Time it’s Canada

February 3, 2025

Well, it didn’t take long for Donald Trump to cave in again. Now he has paused tariffs on Canada for at least 30 days after he speaks with Trudeau.

He claims the reason is because of Canada’s efforts to secure the border.

Trudeau said in a statement that Canada is spending $1.3 billion on “reinforcing the border.” Roughly 10,000 “frontline personnel are and will be” working on border protection, the country is appointing a “Fentanyl Czar” and will designate drug cartels as terrorists, Trudeau said. He added that Canada would spend $200 million on a new intelligence program targeted at organized crime and fentanyl.

It looks like Trump escaped the guillotine for now. Canada is not doing this because of the fentanyl going between Canada and Mexico, because there isn’t any proof that a large amount is traveling from Canada.

Trudeau pacified baby Trump and at the same time, saved pain that his own country would feel if the tariffs went into effect tomorrow. He pacified a racist felon, self-centered autocrat, that we as Americans and the Canadians must live with for the next 4 years.

Is China next? So far, Trump is batting 2 strikes out of 3.

One thing good so far today. Tomorrow will be a good day for the markets, as the futures markets for the DOW, S&P 500 and NASDAQ are all in the green.

Biden Security Deal with Mexico before Trump – the Same Deal with 10,000 Troops at the Border

February 3, 2025

Donald Trump caved before the tariffs that he promised against Mexico even took effect. He took to true social today writing…

” I just spoke with President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico.  It was a very friendly conversation wherein she agreed to immediately supply 10,000 Mexican soldiers on the border separating Mexico and the United States. These soldiers will be specifically designed to stop the flow of fentanyl and illegal immigrants into our country we further agreed to immediately pause the anticipated tariffs for a 1-month period during which we will have negotiations headed up by Secretary of State Marco Rubio Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessant and Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and high level representatives of Mexico I look forward to participating in these negotiations with President Claudia Sheinbaum as we attempt to achieve a deal between our two countries.”

In other words, this was Donald Trump noticing that the stock market was tanking and noticing that the headlines were terrible and walking back his tough talk about imposing tariffs.  So now he claims that he agreed with the President of Mexico to send soldiers at the border. What a joke!

Guess What? That is the EXACT same deal that Biden secured in 2021 literally, according to AP, according to Bidens first White House Secretary Jen Psaki. She claimed Mexico will maintain a deployment of about 10,000 troops while Guatemala has surged 1500 police and military personnel to its Southern border and Honduras deployed 7,000 police and military to its border to dispense a large contingent of migrants there. Guatemala will also set up 12 checkpoints along the migratory route through the country.

Is Trump doing a fraction of that, or is there just border Troops between the US and Mexico?

Ok, we’ve got 10,000 Mexican troops at the border to stop Mexicans from getting into the US illegally which Trump presumes is going to stem the flow of fentanyl into this country. That’s not going to have a huge impact on fentanyl according to a right-wing think tank in 2021. US citizens were 86% of convicted fentanyl drug traffickers, ten times greater than convictions of illegal immigrants for the same offense. Over 90% of fentanyl seizures occur at legal crossing points or interior vehicle checkpoints, not on illegal migration routes so US citizens who are subject to less scrutiny when crossing legally are the best smugglers.

The location of smuggling makes sense because hard drugs at ports of entry are about 97% less likely to be stopped than our people crossing illegally between them. Just 0.02% of the people arrested by border patrol for crossing illegally possessed any fentanyl whatsoever. In other words, we’ve beefed up security across the US- Mexico border to account for the 0.02% of fentanyl that isn’t coming through ports of entry or via American citizens who again are less subject to scrutiny but then again, it’s not like we suffered too much collateral damage here, right?

Well, the stock market did act poorly but who cares about stocks, right? According to Trump, this is about respect. He will never be concerned about your pocketbook, only his and his rich friends. He promised the world would respect us again later. Well, they surely won’t respect him now, after he crashed there markets today. The world thinks Trump is stupid and honestly, he is. They are laughing.  His pattern of insane threats of tariffs is dominating the news cycle which is what he wants. But it puts the US economy at risk as markets prepare to freefall. So, Trump pulls back, and takes credit as he claims he worked a deal with the Mexican president. Let’s see how long it is before he caves in to Canada.

Trump Caves to MEXICO, Imagine That, Now He Picks on USAID

February 3, 2025

Right after the stock markets open and plunge over 600 points as expected, Trump CAVES in to Mexico. He now claims that he will pause tariffs to Mexico for a month. At the last check, the DOW stocks were only down 140 points, so they recovered by 500 points because of Trump’s concession to Mexico.

MEXICO PREZ FIRES BACK AND FORCES TRUMP INTO DEAL?!?!

Trump proposes himself to be a strongman. But in essence, he is weak, ill-advised and does things on a whim.

So what about all the Fentanyl coming in from Mexico? Has he magically stopped that? Was that not the main reason why he initiated the tariffs on Mexico in the first place? What about Canada?

Canada is our closest neighbor, but he elects to continue a freeze on Canada. When will he chicken out with Canada! Or do some

There are so many unanswered questions, so the markets will be very volatile for the next month.

But wait! Just when you think Trump finally does something right like halt tariffs on Mexico, he has his flunky Elon Musk come up with a plan that he backs. Now, let’s stop all FOREIGN AID for 90 days. So USAID from the American People has been halted. USAID is the government’s lead provider of nonmilitary foreign aid around the world. It’s been around since Kennedy in the 1960’s. But Elon Musk doesn’t like USAID. Watch the following video…

So now, the talk on the media shows will be about foreign aid. No new projects will be started, no contracts will be extended and work was stopped on most existing programs. All USAID’s top brass were sent home on paid administrative leave for 90 days, can’t access email and their offices were ransacked, as photos from the walls of their offices were removed.

So now, how do people apply for exemptions for life-saving aid programs? The answer is that they can’t, at least through the USAID program that was wiped away by a stroke of Trump’s pen.

For the next 2 years until the mid-terms, expect to go from one disaster to another. Trump and Musk are shutting down programs that were approved by Congress, and it is illegal for the President of the United States to shutdown USAID with a stroke of a pen, when U.S. Congress voted to create it. Again, it is illegal for the president to shutdown an organization like USAID with a stroke of a pen but the president doesn’t care as a felon to violate our laws.

One last note. Keep February 18, 2025 on your calendar. Trump plans on other tariffs around the globe by that date, but being that the chicken that he is, nothing may develop. When Trump gets orders from the real President of the United States, Elon Musk, that’s when he takes action. Last I checked, no one voted for Elon Musk to be president of the United States.
