Here you have the president of the United States, someone who is supposed to know right from wrong, most likely does, but decides to do what’s illegal anyway.
That president is Donald J. Trump. He is a control freak. Only kings, dictators and someone trying to rule in a Democracy but wants to be an authoritarian leader, wishes he had no constraints by the rule of the law in the United States, provided to everyone, including himself by the Constitution.
But that doesn’t faze Donald J. Trump. Here’s a few things he can’t do as president, even though he believes that he can…
He doesn’t get to control on what’s on television.
He doesn’t get to control what’s in movie theaters.
The president doesn’t get to control what’s in the newspaper.
He doesn’t get to control Democratic FREE press that visit the White House.
The president does not even have the right to bar reporters for asking questions that he doesn’t like.
But Donald J. Trump does all that, even though he knows it’s illegal. He does this because he can, temporarily, and he knows it. He also does it to try and control the news cycle. The stations who are represented by the press that were barred from the White House will sue, and then their passes to enter the White House grounds will be reissued. Again, Trump knows this. But Trump ultimately thinks he’s a king, that he can do things the authoritarian way, but this time he’s going to loose yet again.
So what is the real reason why Donald J. Trump decided to take the headlines on something that he knows will not be permanent? Maybe a story that just came out from a reporter named Katie Fang, an MS NOW reporter that is suing Attorney General Todd Blanche for not providing Epstein documents in a timely manner, required by a law that Donald J. Trump signed, the Epstein Act that a U.S. Court judge ruled that he must provide those documents. These documents may point fingers at Trump, as it’s been stated openly that like Epstein, Donald J. Trump abused girls. None of that is proven yet, but rumors are sailing, and Trump knows that if proven true, he will be incarcerated in the future for it. No immunity for that one.
Trump acts like the White House is he palace, that it belongs to him. He wants things to be like they are in Russia. He wants this to be a country in which he is a king. He feels he can tear down the White House and build it to his liking. He can, but only with the approval from Congress, but I honestly believe that he thinks HE is the only one who can make decisions. He never asks the U.S. Congress to approve anything. The U.S. Constitution says otherwise. He tore down the East Wing without Congressional approval. He’s building a ballroom in place of the East Wing without Congressional approval, and he’s building an ARCH without approval, but you can bet he will have US pay for it.
That’s where Trump gets it ALL wrong. He is NOT a king. It’s not his say-so. It’s the American peoples say-so. The people never asked him to build such structures. The No Kings thing is not just a slogan, it is a TRUTH.
So Trump may be doing things that go against amendments in the U.S. Constitution, but he actually knows what he is doing. He’s doing it because the Supreme Court game him immunity to do what ever he wants when acting as the president. His character and inclinations have been utterly consistent from the very beginning. But the American public’s reflexes against these things are pretty strong. They are detesting his actions, with what he’s doing in Washington, trying to build a memorial for himself while being president.
Trump doesn’t know what else to do. He knows he has lost the public opinion, but now he’s only doing it for his base, like my friend Scott K, who will follow him regardless of what Trump does, permitted by the U.S. Constitution or not. That’s the sad thing. People follow him when even they know what’s right and what’s wrong. They do it anyway. So if Trump believes it, they believe it.
But what the American people know instinctually and habit for generations of sacrifice and centuries of living that this is NOT the American way.
His lack to control himself in leadership and his anti-American tendencies are something that ought to disqualify him from future leadership.
