The United States Postal Service (USPS) and the Executive Branch are overstepping constitutional boundaries by attempting to implement a new service rule that impacts the election administration. This rule is characterized as a politically motivated attempt to create “chaos and confusion” and suppress the vote ahead of the upcoming deadlines for mailing military and overseas ballots.
Donald J. Trump doesn’t adhere by the U.S. Constitution. The U.S. Constitution grants states, not the President or the Postal Service, the authority and duty to administer elections.
Things are about to get pretty critical really fast. North Carolina is scheduled to mail ballots to armed forces and citizens in just a little over a week. The implementation of Trump’s Executive order preventing mail in ballots threatens the integrity of that upcoming timeline in North Carolina. Trump ordered the Postal Service to not manage mail in ballots to voters. Other states are also running out of time too, and it seems just so convenient for Trump to try and stop free and fair elections now, at this time in order to suppress the vote, because he knows that he has no other way to prevent the loss of the Republican majority in both the Senate and House of Representatives, except by means of his ability to stop fair and free elections with Executive power. Trump has been abusing his power, even if he has ‘Presidential Immunity’ for his bad actions as the President of the United States, and a future Congress will hold him accountable. He may never get prosecuted from any of his crimes committed as President, but everyone will know what Trump has done. More impeachment hearings are on the way, and I have no doubt that he will again be impeached. There will be over a dozen articles of impeachment coming his way.
The States will not have any of this, and there will be an objection from any one of the states in court proceedings that will put a damper on Trump’s Executive action, which will stall the implementation of it, and most likely then it will be too late to implement it because mail-in ballots will be mailed out. In this case, Democracy may work, but in the future, unless Trump is held accountable while in office with an impeachment and conviction by the Senate, Donald Trump will have ‘immunity’ rein to do what he likes for the next two years, even as a lame duck president, because that’s what he does best.
What is ‘good the the goose is good for the gander’. If Trump votes by mail as he has in the last 3 elections, then why is it not ok for the American people to vote by mail? It makes no sense, but of course, nothing Trump ever thinks makes any sense, unless what he is thinking helps himself.
