I have a Republican friend who lives in Wisconsin named Scott K. who likes to blame presidents from the past, and ignore all of the bad things that the present Republican President Donald Trump has done to our Democracy. He sends me lies in text messages. My friend Scott K. has his blinders on. He doesn’t recognize all the things Trump has done in just under two years as our president in his second term, let alone accounting for everything he did in his first term. Here’s what he says, and I quote him from a text he sent me not even related to Donald Trump.
“The only insurrection was caused by Pelosi, and finally she and her husband are having to pay for all their insider stock trading.”
There isn’t even once ounce of truth to my friend’s statement.
I guess my friend wants to forget the following at the same time he likes to just piss me off…
The January 6 United States Capitol attack, widely characterized as an insurrection or attempted coup, occurred on January 6, 2021. The event began at approximately 12:53 p.m. and lasted until the Capitol was secured around 5:40 p.m. (UTC−05:00) in Washington, D.C.
Nancy Pelosi didn’t cause the insurrection. She was in session to confirm Joe Biden as President of the United States when Trump’s sickos attacked the Capital.
So what Scott H. claims is a total lie
The people who attacked the Capital entered Nancy Pelosi’s office and ransacked it and destroyed government property. They defecated in her office. Then Trump gets re-elected and pardons every one of the insurrectionists the first day of his presidency. Anyone who does anything in his name will face no accountability as long as he is president because of his immunity given to him by the Republican led Supreme Court.
Key Facts:
-
Cause: The attack was driven by false claims of 2020 presidential election fraud made by then-President Donald Trump and his allies to prevent the certification of Joe Biden‘s victory.
NOW HERE IS A FACT that my friend Scott K needs to know…
Nancy Pelosi has never been fined or prosecuted for insider trading.
So what Scott K said in his text message is a lie.
Scott, find me the proof and I’ll remove this statement. While her husband’s stock trades have faced intense scrutiny and allegations of benefiting from insider information, no formal charges or penalties have been issued against her. The existing STOCK Act of 2012, which governs congressional trading, carries a maximum penalty of only $200 for late financial disclosures, a fine that has resulted in zero prosecutions in over a decade. But with that said, I’ll concede and say she wasn’t very ethical either, and for that matter, which Congressman in the House or Senate are actually ethical these days. But to restate this, Nancy Pelosi has never paid a red cent for insider stock trading. Here’s what I say…”All are crooks.” I’ve told my friend this time and time again, yet Scott K. wants to blame every Democrat he decides to without any credible proof.
But Donald J. Trump takes ‘the cake’.
Maybe my friend Scott K. hasn’t read the news lately, on all the money Trump has made with Meme Coin. But let’s go there for a moment to educate him on it. What I’m including here is just the ‘tip of the iceberg’.
President Donald Trump has made at least $2.2 billion in revenue during his first year back in office (2025), according to federal financial disclosures released in July 2026. Some analyses, such as one by Forbes, estimate his total intake closer to $2.4 billion including asset sales, while other trackers suggest his family’s ventures have generated up to $4 billion in proceeds and paper wealth since his January 2025 inauguration.
Cryptocurrency is the primary driver of this wealth, accounting for approximately $1.2 billion to $1.4 billion of his income through ventures like World Liberty Financial and the $TRUMP meme coin. This represents a roughly 250% increase from his 2024 revenue of $622 million, with significant additional earnings coming from international licensing deals ($125 million) and legal settlements ($117 million).
While the White House maintains that the president operates via a “blind account” and faces no conflicts of interest, critics describe the scale of enrichment as unprecedented in modern U.S. history. The reported figures reflect gross revenue and proceeds rather than net profit, and exact tax liabilities remain unknown as Trump has not released his tax returns.
No other president in U.S. history has abused his power as president as he has with his financial ventures and then never reported them on his tax returns.
No single federal law completely prevents a sitting U.S. president from earning gross income or profits from stocks, but several constitutional provisions and proposed legislation aim to limit such financial gains.
The Emoluments Clauses of the U.S. Constitution (Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 and Article II, Section 1, Clause 7) prohibit presidents from receiving gifts, payments, or profits from foreign or domestic governments without Congressional consent, though their application to private stock market gains remains legally contested. Qatar gifted a Boeing 747-8 jet to the United States for use by President Donald Trump as a temporary Air Force One. The aircraft, valued at approximately $400 million, was donated by the Qatari royal family in May 2025 as an “unconditional” gift to the U.S. Department of Defense. The new jet is now being fitted with the protections needed in an Air Force One jet, and the American people pay for the upgrades. It should not be personal property owned by Trump after he leaves office, but he plans to either use it to replace his personal jet or to retire it in a museum created in his name.
The Domestic Emoluments Clause restricts additional compensation from U.S. or state governments beyond the fixed presidential salary. Donald Trump receives a statutory annual salary of $400,000 from the U.S. government, paid monthly, along with a $50,000 non-taxable expense allowance and additional funds for travel ($100,000) and entertainment ($19,000). However, during both his first and current terms, he has formally accepted only a symbolic $1 salary, donating the remainder of his official compensation to various federal agencies such as the Department of Health and Human Services and the National Park Service.
Regarding foreign income, reports indicate significant financial benefits to Donald Trump from abroad.
A House Oversight Committee report found his businesses received at least $7.8 million from 20 foreign governments during his first presidency, while Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) estimates the total likely benefited him to the tune of $13.6 million. In 2025 alone, his businesses reportedly earned an unprecedented $2.24 billion, marking a 280% increase from 2017, though the specific portion of this revenue directly attributable to foreign government payments in the current term is not explicitly detailed in the available data. No other president in American history has made money from foreign governments while in office.
The Foreign Emoluments Clause bars benefits from foreign states unless Congress approves. This also applies to the jet that Qatar gave to Trump. But Trump thinks nothing of not following the law. He accepted the jet anyway and we the citizens are paying for the overhaul.
The Ethics in Government Act requires financial disclosure but does not mandate divestiture or blind trusts for presidents. Where are Trumps financial returns for 2025. He never plans to give financial disclosure to keep his income private.
The STOCK Act applies to Congress and federal employees but does not explicitly bind the president against stock trading.
Proposed bills like the NO PROFIT Act (introduced June 2026) seek to impose a 100% tax on presidential stock gains unless assets are in a qualified blind trust. While historical practice shows most modern presidents have used blind trusts to avoid conflicts, there is no enforceable statutory ban preventing a president from personally profiting from stock investments while in office. But just so you know, Donald Trump does not have a true blind trust. Unlike every U.S. president since the 1970s, Trump has never placed his assets in a blind trust that would hide their contents from him and be managed by an independent trustee.
Revocable Trust Structure. Instead of a blind trust, Trump utilizes a revocable trust managed by his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, along with former CFO Allen Weisselberg. This arrangement allows Trump to withdraw money at will, retain ownership of his businesses, and potentially revoke the trust at any time, offering no barrier against conflicts of interest.
Knowledge of Holdings. Although Trump has referred to his investments as a “blind account,” federal disclosure documents signed by the president in 2026 confirm he knows exactly what stocks he owns. If it was a ‘blind Trust’ Trump would not know. Filings reveal he executed 3,642 individual stock transactions in early 2026, including trades in companies regulated by his administration, which contradicts the definition of a blind trust where the owner is unaware of specific assets.
The bottom line here is that
PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP IS CORRUPT
He is not like any other president in U.S. history. He is not transparent and doesn’t want anyone to know about his business dealings. He personally profits whenever he can and has no shame in doing it. While the American people are struggling financially, Trump is living his dream.
Scott, instead of texting me that garbage, try and be a real friend. We both know that we will never agree with politics, so why bring up my ire in text messages like that. If you continue to do that, then I will have no recourse than to refute everything you say that is factually wrong in articles on this website like this very article.
