The House of Representatives passed a third War Powers Resolution (220-204) to formally rebuke the executive branch’s unauthorized military actions in Iran.
Supported by seven Republicans, the resolution underscores a bipartisan rejection of a conflict now characterized by severe military attrition and domestic economic instability.
The conflict has resulted in to a high-intensity war of attrition, severely depleting U.S. strategic reserves and infrastructure. The conflict has resulted in 19 U.S. service members killed and over 750 wounded. Also, the U.S. military has expended between 505 and 66% of its total missile defense interceptor stockpile. A single defensive operation in Jordan required approximately 70-120 Patriot and THAAD interceptors which was a $500 million expenditure in just 24 hours.
The assets lost in the conflict are the following:
Hundreds of buildings across bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, and Jordan.
Confirmed equipment losses include F-35s, F-15s, A-10s, and $1 billion E-3 AWACS aircraft.
While official reports cite $38 billion in equipment damage, internal assessments suggest the true cost of infrastructure and personnel recovery ranges from $300 billion to $500 billion.
Trump promises that the U.S. will be out of the war and out of the region right after the mid-terms, but he always lies, as he originally said the U.S. would be out the first week. That has been stretched to 7 months with no end in site.
But now Trump no longer has the authority to keep our troops there. Congress, who rightfully voted to stop this ‘forever war’ instigated by Trump, MUST END now. Will he listen to the U.S. Congress. Of course not. What will happen now? That is the $64 million dollar question.
