Trump previously fires the head of the FAA before the crash. The New York Times reports that a preliminary FAA report now saying a labor shortage is to blame for the American Airlines flight 5342 crashing into a Blackhawk helicopter Wednesday night. All 64 passengers on board that flight as well as three soldiers inside the helicopter died, bring the the death toll to 67. This has turned out to be the worst air tragedy in our country since November of 2001. The New York times reported that the staffing inside the air traffic control towers on Wednesday night “was not normal”. The FAA memo according to the New York Times says Wednesday that one air traffic controller was doing a job normally performed by two people. It has been reported that Mike Whitaker, Biden’s FAA head quit on inauguration day. Whitaker says he was pressured to resign by Elon Musk who is in charge of Donald Trump’s newly formed Department of government efficiency. Whitaker as head of the FAA hit Musk’s SpaceX with nearly $650,000 in fines last year. Whitaker cited SpaceX for safety violations during three 2023 launches Elon Mush was outraged. He responded to the safety violation fines by saying “Humanity will forever be confined to Earth unless there is radical reform at the FAA.” So, it looks as if Elon Musk got exactly what he wanted. He got radical reform at the FAA. There was NOBODY in charge of the FAA Wednesday night when the Blackhawk helicopter collided with that American Airlines passenger jet. Why was there no one named in Whitaker’s place? Its because Donald Trump FORGOT to name somebody to head the FAA. How could he remember to put somebody new as head of the FAA when he was so busy firing people? But Elon Musk ordered the head of the FAA to resign according to the Huffington Post. Why would he do such a thing? Maybe it’s because of the $650,000 fines he got last year for safety violations.
Then Trump hold a post-crash news conference last Wednesday night and immediately announced he as named a temporary new head of the Federal Aviation Authority. It was an unbelievable news conference showing the lack in leadership skills of Trump. What’s the rush now? We didn’t have anyone in charge of the FAA on the night of the fatal crash because according to the Huffington Post, Musk fired the guy in charge of the FAA possibly over the head of the FAA’s obsession with safety. Why did Musk have that power? Was it because Trump just gave him the power? That is also against the law. Less than 2 weeks back, inside the Oval Office, less than 2 weeks after announcing massive spending cuts along with massive firings of federal employees, we end up with the worst air disaster since 2001 and there’s nobody in charge of our Federal Aviation Authority until yesterday, because the richest man in the world reportedly fired the head of the FAA because the richest man in the world perhaps doesn’t like to be fined over safety violations. So now what is Trump supposed to do? With Donald Trump, the best defense is an incredibly offensive offense. So, what does he do? He blamed the midair collision on black people. He blamed that the fatal air collision was caused by DEI – (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) which as we all know is a dog whistle for black people. Trump complained about all the DEI hires at the FAA under the Biden Administration and he said that is what caused the crash. He said “A group within the FAA determined the workforce as too white. They actually came out with a directive saying it’s too white,”so they had to hire more black people.
While Federal employees were fishing victims out of the Potomac River, Federal employees were receiving offers to buy out of their contracts. Trump accused Biden of lowering the standards for air traffic controllers. But what he meant was that Biden hired people who weren’t white. To drive home the point, Vice-President J.D. Vance, who spread the lie about Haitians in Springfield Ohio eating cats and dogs. JD Vance took to the podium and claimed, “We want to hire the best people who are actually competent enough to do the job”. If that was the case, then why was J.D. Vance chosen as Trump’s running mate? The implication from JD Vance is that only white people are competent. And what he was saying was not enough. Because Trump was unable to let J.D. Vance get all the attention, Trump grabs the microphone away from J.D. Vance, then lied saying that it was Joe Biden, who thought it easier to just hire people of color, lowered the standards for becoming air traffic controllers. Wow…That is an outright lie. Donald Trump will be known as the worst president in U.S. history. He is incompetent. He cannot make decisions on his own except the ones that hurt other people. Now he’s firing more people, the lawyers and others in the FBI that had anything to do with his convictions before the election. He’s cleaning house, except that he doesn’t have the right to do so. He’s making his own laws and breaking existing ones. Why? Maybe because he has presidential immunity. Congress only has the right to make laws. Not Trump. Trump is fixing to be sued over and over again. The way he is going, he will never last. Hopefully the country can withstand his lawlessness before it collapses before he does, and the way he is going, he definitely will not make it an entire four more years.
