Every time I watch words come out of Donald Trump’s mouth, and for that matter from any Republican that doesn’t want to put the blame of the global problems on Trump, will say this…
“it’s because of Joe Biden” or “it’s because of Barack Obama”.
Are you kidding me? I have a Republican friend named Scott K. in Wisconsin that brings that up when I talk to him on the phone, and when he texts but not every time. I cannot discuss politics with him, at least not from a Democratic point of view. On his Facebook page, he obviously is obsessed with blaming Biden and Obama for everything bad that’s happening in this world. He searches the internet and finds every negative tidbit he can find about Biden and Obama or any AI created video or poster. and reposts them on his Facebook page. Nothing original. He knows how much that pisses me off, but he continues to do it anyway. Then he asks me when I plan to come and visit. I can’t say that a visit would go well with our completely polar opposite thinking regarding politics. In the past, I visited him and we never once discussed politics, but I’m afraid that now we distinctively know each others views, a visit may not go well. He asks me and I quote, “Hi James, How are you guys today?” Then in another prior text message, he says this and I quote…
“I hate to say this but the Democrats in this country today especially the gen z ones are socialist/communists from the illegals from Biden/Obama”.
So now it’s my turn to nip this in the butt. I’m tired of hearing it’s Bidens fault, or Obama’s fault.
The first time I heard this was in Trump’s first term. At that time, Trump was in the presidency for a full four years, yet what was happening in the country was Barack Obama’s fault.
Donald Trump is now more than 550 days into his second presidency which is almost 2 years. He controls the Executive Branch of government. He has a completely Republican Congress. He has a Supreme Court that bends backwards for him and disregards what the Constitution says, just to please him. Yes, it’s been his Cabinet, his high court, his agenda, his appointees, and his economy. He owns it. Add to that foreign policy. But if you were to ask my friend, or any Republican official that spews garbage from Newsmax, The Daily Wire, the Tucker Carlson Network, and Breitbart, which cater specifically to right-wing audiences, it’s always Joe Biden’s fault. The Joe Rogan Experience podcast also ranks highly, with 31% of Republicans trusting it as a news source, and now all of them, including my friend Scott, blame Joe Biden and Barack Obama.
I hear this all the time…
The economy, Joe Biden. Higher prices, Joe Biden.
The fact is that inflation is now running higher than every other country in the G7. That’s the EXACT OPPOSITE of where we stood under Joe Biden. We can blame “The Big Beautiful Bill” for that, that improves the lives of just about 85 super rich people, but at the same time, destroys the lives for millions of middle class folk. That was a signature bill by Donald Trump.
But let’s not stop there. If it isn’t about Joe Biden, then Trump an/or my friend Scott K. manages to work Barack Obama in the rotation.
Now here’s is a known fact. You can ask any Republican. The buck never stops with Donald Trump. It never has. Not even during Covid.
Remember when Trump claimed a cure for covid?
Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine: In March 2020, Trump touted these antimalarial drugs as having “tremendous promise” for treating COVID-19, claiming they had been quickly approved by the FDA (which clarified they had not been approved for this use). He later stated he was personally taking hydroxychloroquine as a preventive measure, even as health officials warned of potential side effects and fatal overdoses. The FDA eventually revoked emergency authorization after studies showed the drugs did not help COVID-19 patients.
Trump also floated dangerous ideas during press briefings, including injecting disinfectants or exposing patients to UV light to kill the virus, or injest “bleach” — claims immediately debunked by health professionals as life-threatening.
By the time a vaccine was finally developed, it was during Joe Biden’s presidency. So if Scott wants to blame anyone coming up with a preventative measure for Covid-19, one that actually works, he can blame Joe Biden for that.
Trump refused to take the blame for Covid-19, especially when his administration knew of the virus before anyone else did. But to take the blame off of himself for not educating Americans as soon as he possible could, he blamed China. All facts show that the virus did come from China, but then he would blame anyone else he could, just to steal the news highlights every single day. Never a day would go by when Donald Trump didn’t blame someone for the virus. He blamed the governors, the media, the World Health Organization, anybody except the guy standing behind the presidential seal. He would put out his garbage and lies every chance he got, and still does.
There has never been a bigger whiner, a bigger crybaby, a bigger professional victim in the history of time. He was the victim. He can never be the blame for anything that is bad that happens to anyone.
Donald Trump inherited an economy moving in the right direction the first time from Barack Obama. The second time, he inherited an economy moving in the right direction from Joe Biden.
But during both times, he drove the economy over a cliff with his foot welded to the accelerator. That’s not Joe Biden. That’s not Barack Obama.
That’s Donald Trump…
Donald Trump owns the tariffs. He owns the economic uncertainty. He owns the decisions, so he ultimately owns the consequences.
The war in Iran is a perfect example. Trump started it, not Joe Biden or Barack Obama. Trump put U.S. soldiers into harms way and almost two dozen soldiers are confirmed dead because of Trump’s war. But he doesn’t know how to end it. There never was an exit strategy.
Biden ended the forever war in Afghanistan. He took the heat for it. The end result of that war didn’t make Biden look good, and I’ll admit that. But he did what was best for the county. He took America out of a war. Donald Trump did the opposite without Congressional approval, as he started a war with his very corrupt buddy Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel.
So let’s go down another avenue where Trump is completely responsible, not Joe Biden or Barack Obama. Donald Trump added roughly 28% of the entire national debt accumulated over the course of American history. He did that. He owns that. But don’t ask any Republican because they will tell you that under Democratic leadership, that’s how the national debt has grown. So yes again, the buck never actually stops with Donald Trump. Trump will never take responsibility as Joe Biden did when he abruptly ended the Afghanistan war.
Ask any Democrat who is at fault when something goes wrong during a Democratic presidency, and they will tell you that their president is at fault. Ask any Republican who is at fault when something goes wrong during a Republican presidency, and they will tell you that it’s Obama or Biden’s fault.
So the bottom line is that even after five hundred and fifty plus days into Trump’s presidency, he’s still acting like he’s the new guy because the buck never stops with him.
